Shooting Sirens
Shooting Sirens is here to challenge the common misconception that shooting is a "Man's World." I grew up as the first female to be born into my dad's side of the family in generations. Although I was a girl, my dad and grandpa had me shooting as a kid and that made it easy for me to be comfortable around guns. I recently obtained my CHL (Concealed Handgun License, much like a CCW, but for handguns alone) so that I would be able to protect myself. Shortly after getting my CHL I decided to get additional training to become an NRA certified CCW/CHL instructor. Because people tend to see guns as a male interest, many women will not get a CCW. I believe that by offering women only classes it provides a certain level of comfort needed to get more women shooting.

I would love to own a few pink guns, but if anyone tried to paint any of my historic guns pink I would probably beat them senseless with a WW2 trench shovel.

Welcome to Shooting Sirens! This will be the personal blog of the founder of Shooting Sirens. Some days will be all about guns, some days it might be makeup, we will definitely touch on self-defense, and other times it might be whatever pops into my head. I started Shooting Sirens as a place for women to come together and enjoy the presence of other women and learn about the world of shooting. I’m here to make that happen and the things we touch on will be for women. We have many male fans and we love them, but there may be some posts you want to avoid. ;-)
I am an NRA Certified Instructor, as is my husband. We feel very strongly that every person should be able to protect themselves. Guns are one of those ways, but that is not the only way. I have no delusions that I know everything about self-defense, so there will be guest bloggers. I can’t wait to share with you all that I have learned and all there is to learn. I give you my word that I will try to be as up to date as possible when there are things that need to be heard. I believe that knowledge truly is power when it comes to everything in life. Self-defense and firearms are no different. Thanks for joining what is sure to be a fun and possibly wild ride.

I think I could watch this over and over. Sadly if the political part of this country has it’s way my fantasy of a never ending magazine is slapped right out of my head after… what 8 shots? 5? Who says how far it will go?
